Millie our Maori Maiden

Millie dressed up in her Maori outfit for her classes assembly item this week.......and as you can see looked gorgeous. She also did a great job with her speaking part, inviting "Mr Don to present the Principal certificates"

Cooking Classes - Round 2

Last year I taught some of the girls from work how to bake biscuits and muffins. This year they wanted to learn how to bake and ice cakes.
We had another fun afternoon baking 2 cakes and icing 7 cakes.

As you can see the cake colouring you buy here is totally psychedelic and makes for very loud and happy results!!!

Bubu comes to town

The last couple of weeks I have been fortunate to have an extra pair of hands to help out with the kids. Bubu (my Mum) has been in town for 12 days and it has been great to have someone doing school picks and drop offs and geneally easing the "family load".

With the beaches off limits because of crocodiles our adventures have been limited to walks at the Botanic Gardens - a lovely oasis of a spot in Honiara - that is when it has not been pouring with rain!!

Tobias Turns 4

Tobias celebrated his 4th birthday this month , firstly with a Pirate Party when Carl was still in town and then on his birthday with Bubu staying. He is a very big boy now doing 5 full days at preschool each week - which he loves.

One of his best gifts was a series of cool photos from Carl wishing Tobias a Happy Birthday from a variety of PNG places and people - there are a couple on the blog , not sure if you can read them but they say " Happy 4th Birthday Tobias"
